Mirror’s Edge

So I went to Blockbuster the other day looking for some new games to play with, unfortunately they haven’t gotten any new games in over a month. Not exactly sure why didn’t really care to ask anyone :) .

So I was browsing looking for something I have yet to experienced, when I came across this game Mirror’s Edge. I remember seeing commercials for this one and saying wow that looks like a good game, I liked the graphics in the commercials at least and the concept seemed interesting, so I picked it up along with another one I will talk about later for my new PS3.

Now the premise of this game is that you are a runner, from what I gather runners are now the way things and info is transmitted from point A to point B in the city. Apparently it’s dangerous and there are people out there who want to stop you from completing your mission.

Well, I didn’t make it past the tutorial level myself so I can’t really tell you what the whole game is about or what happens and honestly I don’t even know if I have the whole premise right either. This game is hard, now I am sure there is someone out there who is going to comment saying I am a baby because I thought this game was hard or I am to old to be playing them, something like that, but I play hard games on normal and hard and get through them just fine.

This game just isn’t laid out very well, the controller scheme isn’t very good, you have to push L1, R2, and L2 a lot to do things like climb walls and grab ledges and turn around. I got to the part where I had to jump from pipe to pipe sideways and after 20 min of trying to do it I quit, of course it was late at night like 1am I was tired and had been on pain meds for my bad tooth but still it just seemed so frustrating.

I love the graphics in the game and the concept seems intersting, but man I just can’t seem to get into it. I will give it another try I mean this was only my first time trying to do it but you would have thought the tutorial level would be easy, and the game was set on easy too.

Maybe other people really liked it but I will say this, since the first week it was out it has always been in at the blockbuster I go to. Not to be compared but Rockband 2 was out for 2 months before there were any available copies in. So I guess not to many people liked this game very much here, or they were all just amazing gamers and beat it in a matter of hours :)

Changed My Blog

This was my blog on video games, but I decided that I wanted to write about more than just video games sometimes so I figured I would change the title aand start writing about whatever crossed my mind. I am not sure who will ever read this but hey at least it gives me a place to get it all out right?
